Livingston, with a population of around 7000 residents, has maintained its old western town atmosphere as a designated 'historic district' on the National Register. The restored Northern Pacific Railroad Station, now a museum, is a major point of interest. The Federation of Fly Fishers also has a museum and education conservation center in town. Bozeman, the gateway to the Gallatin area, is home to Montana State University and the Museum of the Rockies which boasts an excellent dinosaur exhibit. |

Livingston has a community golf course, and a park with tennis courts and swimming pool bordering the Yellowstone River and two community theaters offering productions during the summer. There is a water slide near Big Timber, east of the Boulder River. A day in Yellowstone Park for the camera buff can be very rewarding.
